しかし、どうやらきちんと予約が入っていなかったようです。
今空いているのはシングルルームだけだそうです。大きな部屋に泊まりたかったケンは困ってしまいました。
でも、フロントの人の話では「この部屋はダブルルームと同じ広さです。」ということです。
大きな部屋に泊まれて、ほっと一安心のケンでした。

- 〈X times as ～ as …〉は「・・・のx倍」という意味の倍数表現です。ただし、「2倍」は
〈twice as ～ as …〉になるので注意してください。 - 〈as ～as possible〉は「できるだけ～」という意味です。つまり、as short as possibleは「できるだけ短く」、as concise as possibleは「できるだけ簡潔に」。
- short and sweetは「（話や文章などが）長過ぎず簡潔で／ちょうど良い」という意味の決まった表現。
