「ちょうど、シンディとロブに会ったところだよ。」と、ホセに伝えるケン。海外赴任で、日本人とばかり付き合っている人を見かけることがありますが、部下や同僚はローカルスタッフの方が多い職場もありますよね。英語学校で他国の友だちをたくさん作ったケンなら、職場でもすぐにみんなと仲良くなれるよね。

Unit 6〜10では、ケンとハヤブサ・モータース社のローカルスタッフとの会話を通じて、「現在完了形」を学習していきます。
adviser 「現在完了形」は、日本語にはない概念で、過去から現在と、２つの時制をまたがって表現します。つまり、「過去形」が過去の１点のみを表し、現在のことには及ばないのに対し、「現在完了形」では、『過去だけでなく現在の動作や状態』も表すのです。
adviser まず、以下の「現在完了形」の３つのポイントを押さえましょう。
  1. 「現在完了形」は、『過去に起こった動作や状態が、現在まで続いていること』を表します。
  2. 基本文型は、〈主語 ＋ have/ has ＋ 動詞の過去分詞〉です。
  3. 「現在完了形」には、①完了・結果、②経験、③継続の３つの用法があります。
adviser 今日は、「現在完了形」の１つめの用法『完了・結果』を学習します。
adviser 「～をしたところだ」「まだ～していない」という、動作の『完了』や『結果』を表します。

Ken : I’ve just met Rob and Cindy.
I haven’t met the others yet.		 ケン : ちょうど、シンディとロブに会ったところだよ。
他の人達にはまだ会っていないよ。

adviser “I have just met Cindy and Rob.”の “I have” は、 “I‘ve” に省略した方が会話の中では自然です。
adviser 『完了・結果』の用法では、“I’ve just met Rob and Cindy.”「ちょうど会ったところ」、 “I haven’t met the others yet.”「まだ会っていない」のように、“just”「ちょうど」「～したばかり」、“yet”「（否定文で）まだ～ない」、あるいは、“already”「すでに」、“now”「たった今」などの語とともに、通常、用います。
