今日は、自分で日程を提案して、アポイントメントを取る表現を学習しましょう。
adviser “Would it be possible to ～?”は 、「～することは可能でしょうか→できますでしょうか？」と、『可能性』を尋ねる表現です。カジュアルな表現は、“Is it possible to ～?” ですが、特にお客さまや上司などとの会話では、『控え目さ』を表す"would"を挿入することで、より丁寧な印象を与えることができます。

Laura : Hello, this is Laura speaking. ローラ : もしもし、ローラです。
Ken : Hello, Laura. This is Ken calling from Hayabusa Motors Philippines.
I’d like to introduce our new product.
Would it be possible to meet later this week?		 ケン : こんにちは、ローラ。ハヤブサモーターズフィリピンのケンです。
弊社の新製品をご紹介したいのですが。
今週の後半お会いすることはできますか？
Laura : I’m sorry, I’m busy all week. ローラ : すみませんが、今週はずっと忙しいです。
Ken : I see. How about 4 PM next Tuesday at your office? ケン : そうですか。では、来週火曜日4時から御社のオフィスでいかがでしょうか？
Laura : Okay. That’s fine. ローラ : それなら大丈夫です。

ワンポイント・アドバイス
adviser “How about ～?"「～はいかがですか？」は、主に下記のときに使える、簡単で便利な表現です。「～」の部分には名詞がきます。また、howはwhatに置き換えることができます。
  1. 相手の意見や考えを聞くとき：「～についてどう思いますか？」「～についてはどうお考えですか？
    例：How about the test results? 　「試験結果についてどう思いますか？」
  2. 相手に何かを提案や勧誘するとき：「～してはいかがですか？」「 ～ではいかがですか？」
    例：How about going out for a drink tonight? 「今晩一杯飲みに行くのはいかがですか？」
