先ほどの人物から、また電話がかかってきました！電話をとったケン。今度は、「どちらさまでしょうか？」と、まず相手が誰なのかを確認することができました。そして、次は用件を聞きます。さて、しっかりと聞き取れるかな？

今日は、電話をかけてきた相手の名前や会社名を聞き、さらに用件を確認するための表現を学習しましょう。
adviser “Who’s calling, please?”「誰が電話をしているのですか？→どちらさまですか？」もよく使いますが、ここでは‟May I ask～？”「～をお聞きしてもよろしいですか？」を冒頭に置き、”May I ask who’s calling,(please)?”「誰が電話をしているのかお聞きしてよろしいですか？→どちらさまでしょうか？」とより丁寧にしています。pleaseは省略しても構いません。

Ken : Hello, this is Hayabusa Motors Philippines.
Ken speaking.		 ケン : もしもし、ハヤブサ・モータース・フィリピンです。
ケンです。
Caller : Hello. It’s me again. 顧客 : もしもし。また私です。
Ken : May I ask who’s calling? ケン : どちらさまでしょうか？
Peter : My name’s Peter, from Manila Motors. ピーター : マニラ・モータースのピーターです。
Ken : Hello Peter. ケン : こんにちは、ピーター。
Peter : I’m calling about a shipment I requested last week. ピーター : 先週依頼した製品の出荷についてお電話しました。
Ken : I’m sorry, could you repeat that? ケン : すみません、もう一度言っていただけますか？
Peter : Yes, I’m calling about a shipment I requested last week. ピーター : はい。先週依頼した製品の出荷について電話しました。

“May I have your name (, please)?”「お名前をいただけますでしょうか？」
adviser この場合、“May”の代わりに“Can”を使えばかなりカジュアルな感じになります。また、“please”を付ければより丁寧な響きになります。
