“how many”は「どのくらいの数」、”how much”は「どのくらいの量」という意味で、howを用いて『数や量』を尋ねることができます。
また、〈“how” + 形容詞／副詞〉で、「どのくらい～か」という『程度』を尋ねることができます。例えば、“how long”は「どのくらいの長さ」、“how big”は「どのくらいの大きさ」、“how far”は「どのくらい遠く」、“how soon”は「どのくらいすぐ」のように使います。
大きさ、長さ、重さなど、様々な『程度』を確認しなくてはいけない生産現場では、とても大切な表現ですね。
