Jiu : This food is delicious, Mini.
Did you make all this?		 ジウ : この料理とても美味しいです、ミニ。
全部ミニが作ったんですか？
Mini : Yes, I did. ミニ : そうですよ。
Jiu : Where did you learn to cook like this? ジウ : どこでこんな美味しい料理を覚えたんですか？
Mini : My mother taught me when I was a child.
And before I was an English teacher, I was a chef.		 ミニ : 小さい頃、母親が教えてくれました。
あと、英語教師になる前は、私はシェフだったんですよ。
Jiu : That’s amazing! ジウ : それはすごいですね！
Ken : I’ve tried all kinds of Filipino food, but your adobo is the best! ケン : いろんなフィリピン料理を食べましたが、やっぱりミニのアドボが一番おいしいです！
Mini : I’m glad you like it.
There are many ways to make adobo.
Every family has a unique recipe.		 ミニ : 気に入ってもらって嬉しいです。

adviser “動詞の“cook”は「料理をする」という意味ですが、熱を用いる料理に限られます。熱を通さない食べものも含む「食事の用意」を表すときは、“fix”、あるいは、“prepare”を使います。
“I will fix something to eat for you, Ken.” 「ケン、何か食べるものを作ってあげるね」
adviser 名詞の“ cook”は「料理をする人」です。
“My mother is a good cook.” 「母は料理が上手です」
adviser “food”は数えられない名詞です。つまり、単数も複数も、”food”になります。“fruit”も同様です。ただし、「種類」を表す場合は、複数形を用います。
“Japanese food is expensive here.” 「ここでは日本食は高いです」
“This is a list of 10 unhealthy high calorie foods to avoid.” 「これが避けるべき不健康で高カロリーな１０種類の食べもののリストです」
“This tree produces big fruit.” 「この木には大きな果ものがなります」
“Among the tropical fruits, pineapple is most nutritious.” 「トロピカルフルーツの中で、パイナップルが最も栄養価が高い果ものです」
adviser “vegetable”「野菜」は数えられる名詞です。
“Fresh vegetables are important for your health.” 「新鮮な野菜はあなたの健康にとって重要です」
